The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival is pleased to announce finalists for the 2012 Golden Reel Award for Short Films, to be presented at the Festival Closing Night on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The Award will be presented to an Asian Pacific American filmmaker whose work, presented in this year’s Festival, displays both a high degree of excellence and promise of continued creative activity. The Award, presented annually at the Festival, also serves to promote and perpetuate the creative endeavors of Asian Pacific American cinema artists. Also set to be awarded: the Linda Mabalot New Directors/New Visions Award, recognizing original use of cinematic language.
