ELIGIBILITY
The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival accepts films and videos that are made by or about Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and Asians of any nationality. All lengths and genres will be considered.
DEADLINES
Your signed entry form, entry fee, screener and press kit must be postmarked by one of the following dates:
• Early Deadline - Thursday, November 10, 2011
• Final Deadline - Friday, December 9, 2011
• Withoutabox.com Extended Deadline – Wednesday, January 10, 2012
EXHIBITION FORMATS
Eligible formats for exhibition at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival are: 35mm and 16mm (film); and Digital Betacam (NTSC only) (video). No PAL tapes will be accepted; filmmakers of invited short submissions will be notified of correct digital file format to provide for screening, as appropriate. HDCAM and DV CAM are available for feature-length presentations on a case-by-case basis ONLY.

ENTRY FEES
Please enclose a check or money order for $25 (for Early Deadline, postmarked by Nov. 10, 2011); $35 (for Final Deadline, postmarked by Dec. 9, 2011); or $45 (Withoutabox.com Extended Deadline, postmarked by Jan. 10, 2012). Checks and money orders must be issued through a U.S. banking institution. Make checks payable to Visual Communications. Payment can be made with a credit card by filling out card information online or on the entry form.
SUBMISSION MATERIALS
Acceptable format for preview is DVD (NTSC, Region 0 or 1 only). FOR FEATURE-LENGTH and SHORT SUBMISSIONS: We require ONE copy of your entry.
Please include a press kit with your entry, including (electronic version preferred):
* Still images (hard photos and/or high-resolution electronic images of at least 300 dpi). Please provide captions and photo credits for all images.
* Synopsis
* Director’s biography
* Director’s filmography
* Director’s statement
* Cast and crew listing
(If your feature-length film is selected for exhibition, the festival will also request the following items to maximize exposure for your film: posters, director’s photo, video clips.)
To be notified that your entry has been received, please include a self-addressed and stamped postcard. To have your preview screener returned after the festival, please include a self-addressed and stamped envelope with the appropriate postage. Preview copies of entries selected for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival will be deposited into the Festival’s internal film library with the filmmaker’s permission.
SHIPPING
If selected, exhibition prints or tapes must be sent to the Film Festival prepaid to arrive by April 6, 2012. Return or forward shipping will be covered by the Festival.
RENTAL FEES
The Festival does not pay film rental fees. We choose instead to invest our resources in producing the best possible showcase for your work and promoting your work as widely as possible.
SELECTION NOTIFICATION
You will be notified of festival selections by mid-March 2012.
