The name might be different, but the goals of Visual Communications’ re-branded Project Catalyst remains the same as its past iteration, the C3: Project Market: to provide a unique opportunity for filmmakers of Asian descent to showcase their project to Financiers, Producers, Production Companies, Agents, Managers and Industry Executives enabling them with the contacts, information and confidence they need to make their film. Grantees will work in conjunction with Visual Communications to develop professional relationships and future collaborations throughout the film industry that include one-on-one meetings, panels and other events that take place during The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
In addition, a Jury of esteemed filmmakers will determine the Best Project and the winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize and post-production package worth $75,000 courtesy of Tunnel Post.
Recognizing the burgeoning fields of broadcast media, Project Catalyst for the first time welcomes television-based projects in addition to feature-length projects. This year’s projects once again showcases the diverse voices in Asian American filmmaking with eclectic and engaging stories ranging from genre-bending coming-of-age stories, to sci-fi romantic dramas, to a taut tale of corporate espionage. We are proud to bring these film and television projects to this year’s Project Catalyst.
